Saaskly

Aircall

CRM-first cloud call centre with excellent integrations and a headline price that bears little relation to what you actually pay once minimums, annual terms and add-ons stack up.

Saaskly score

Aircall's strengths are real: 250+ integrations led by HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk and Intercom, a good REST API with 50+ webhook events, and an aggressive AI voice-agent roadmap. The problem is total cost of ownership. Headline prices are around £30 (Essentials) and £50 (Professional) per licence per month on annual terms — but both tiers carry a 3-licence minimum, the annual contract auto-renews with no mid-term exit, monthly billing costs a third more, and the extras add up fast: Analytics+, extra numbers, WhatsApp, AI Assist Pro, and AI Voice Agent minutes at £0.29–0.37.

Most account data, including transcripts, is stored in AWS Oregon (only EMEA call recordings sit in Frankfurt), UK 999 handling is undocumented, and desk-phone support is an afterthought. Trustpilot: 2.9/5 on 1,077 reviews, led by auto-renewal and overbilling complaints. We have run Aircall in production — overpriced for what it is, and the TCO is materially different from the headline price once minimum terms and additional costs apply. That is our direct experience.

Cons

  • 3-seat minimum + annual lock-in + add-on stacking put TCO far above the headline (our direct experience)
  • Most data hosted in the US; UK 999 handling undocumented
  • Weak desk-phone/SIP support; 2.9/5 Trustpilot on billing

*How we calculate minimum commitment. Headline per-user prices hide the real cost of trying a platform. Total cost of ownership is licence × seats × term, plus usage, add-ons, setup fees and any early-exit charges. Our "minimum commitment" figure is the floor of that: the entry plan's committed rate × the minimum seats the vendor will sell × the months you must commit to (one month at the month-to-month rate where there is no commitment; the licence price where it is sold per year). It deliberately excludes usage, add-ons and prerequisite licences, so your real first bill will be higher — but never lower than this. For Teams Phone the excluded prerequisites are the Microsoft 365 and Teams licences.
