Saaskly badges

A Saaskly badge tells your customers that an independent reviewer looked at your product and put it on the list. Every product published in a ranked Saaskly category may display one. Badges are never sold, and displaying one has no effect on scores or rankings.

The two badges

  • Leading Provider [year]: for every product published in a ranked Saaskly category. A leading provider is a product our editors selected for a category shortlist after research or first-hand use: typically 10 to 12 products per category, out of the many on the market.
  • Category Winner [year]: for the product holding first place in its category when that year's badges were issued. Where two products share the top score, both are winners, exactly as the category page shows them.

What a badge does not say

A badge carries no score and no rank number. It states a fact that stays true: the product was on the Saaskly list in that year, or it won its category in that year. Because every badge is year-stamped, a product that drops a place the following year keeps the badge it earned; it simply does not receive the next one. The image is fixed once issued, so nothing on a vendor's site changes under them.

The rules

  1. A badge is earned by being selected for and published in a Saaskly category. It cannot be bought, and affiliate or advertising relationships play no part.
  2. Vendors choose whether to display a badge and where. We never ask for a placement or for particular link text.
  3. The embed code links to the product's review on Saaskly with a plain link. A version with rel="nofollow" is provided for vendors whose policy requires it.
  4. Badge text is the badge name, the category and the year. Nothing else may be added to or implied by it.
  5. If a product is removed from Saaskly for cause (misrepresentation, pressure on our editors, or the company ceasing to trade), we withdraw the right to display its badge and record that below. The image itself keeps working so that no vendor page breaks.

How to get yours

  1. Register at the vendor portal and verify an email address on your company's domain.
  2. Open Badges in the portal. Each of your published products shows the badge it qualifies for, with the embed code and a PNG download.
  3. Paste the code where you want the badge to appear.

The portal is also where you can flag anything in a review that is out of date. Corrections are checked by our editors and marked vendor-confirmed on the page.
