Adobe Creative Cloud
Still the industry's deepest toolset (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Frame.io review, Express, Firefly and an official MCP server) at £21.98 a month for Premiere on an annual contract or £66.49 for the Pro suite, with a 50% early-termination fee and the worst Trustpilot record in the category.
How we testAdobe (San Jose, California; public, FY2025 revenue US$23.8bn) sells Premiere at £21.98 a month on an annual contract (£32.98 month-to-month, £262.51 prepaid) bundled with the free Premiere iPhone app, Express Premium and Frame.io review; Creative Cloud Pro (twenty-plus apps including After Effects and Audition with 4,000 premium generative credits) is £66.49 a month on annual, £99.89 month-to-month or £773.86 prepaid, after the August 2025 restructure that renamed All Apps and added a cheaper Standard tier (£51.98) with only 25 credits and no premium video AI. Teams licences are £27.99 (Premiere) and £73.33 (Pro) per user per month ex-VAT with an Admin Console and SSO. The tooling is as strong as its reputation: text-based editing with filler-word removal, Speech to Text, auto-translated captions, Lumetri colour, Generative Extend, Media Intelligence search, Team Projects, and since April 2026 an official "Adobe for Creativity" MCP server.
The commercial side is what buyers remember. Cancelling an annual-paid-monthly plan after day 14 costs 50% of the remaining commitment (the practice behind the US$150m FTC and Department of Justice settlement in March 2026) and month-to-month is 50% dearer than annual. Trustpilot is 1.2 on 7,424 reviews (91% one-star, 0% reply rate): cancellation obstruction, continued charges after trials, and updates that break workflows. The June 2024 terms-of-use row over AI training was walked back, but the distrust lingers.
First-party: we ran Creative Cloud for years and moved our video editing to DaVinci Resolve. In our experience Adobe is an overpriced mess: the subscription keeps climbing, the plans keep being reshuffled, and the product is no longer better than a one-off alternative for the work a business actually does.

*How we calculate minimum commitment. Headline per-user prices hide the real cost of trying a platform. Total cost of ownership is licence × seats × term, plus usage, add-ons, setup fees and any early-exit charges. Our "minimum commitment" figure is the floor of that: the entry plan's committed rate × the minimum seats the vendor will sell × the months you must commit to (one month at the month-to-month rate where there is no commitment; the licence price where it is sold per year). It deliberately excludes usage, add-ons and prerequisite licences, so your real first bill will be higher, but never lower than this. One-off licences show the licence price; Camtasia is sold per year only. Prices are as shown to a UK buyer: Apple, Adobe (individual) and app-store prices include VAT, most SaaS vendors exclude it; see each profile.
