Wix.com Ltd is an Israeli company founded in Tel Aviv in 2006 by Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami and Giora Kaplan, listed on Nasdaq since 2013 and widely held, with about 5,300 staff and offices that include London, Dublin, Vilnius and three in Ukraine. Its own sub-processor list names group entities in the US, Ireland, Germany, Lithuania, the UK and Ukraine, and infrastructure at AWS, Google and Fastly. We found no Russian or Chinese link; Wix stopped serving Russian residents on 12 September 2024 under sanctions rules.

Pricing is the awkward part. The plans page is geo-priced but showed US dollars "for reference only" to our UK browser on most loads on 16 September 2026, and rendered pounds once, with a rolling 50 percent first-term offer valid "until Thursday". Those pound figures, per month on annual billing paid upfront, are Light £9, Core £16 (£8 on the offer), Business £25 (£12.50) and Business Elite £119 (£59.50), all before tax. Core is the plan we score: Light's 2 GB of storage is too thin for a fifty-page site with images and it cannot take payments; Core brings 50 GB, five collaborators, payments and basic ecommerce. Wix says "additional subscription periods are available" and its help centre confirms monthly billing exists, but no month-to-month price is published anywhere before checkout, so that cell reads Not published. Every paid plan includes a first-year domain voucher on annual terms and a 14-day money-back guarantee; there is no trial because the Free plan is permanent, on a Wix subdomain with Wix branding.

The editor moves any element with pixel precision on a fluid canvas, Wix Harmony replaced ADI in January 2026 as a conversational AI builder around an agent called Aria, and the business tools are the broadest here: native bookings, pricing plans, CRM, email marketing, Wix Payments in the UK, Wix Multilingual into 180 languages with 3,000 free auto-translate words, and Velo for full-stack code. SEO controls are unusually complete: robots.txt and meta robots editing, canonicals, bulk 301 redirects, structured data with overrides, automatic sitemaps and WebP conversion, all on Wix's own SEO features page. The official MCP server at mcp.wix.com, announced 7 May 2025, covers ecommerce, bookings, payments, events, blog, CMS and CRM, and needs a Wix account. Hosting is multi-cloud with a 99.99 percent uptime claim that is marketing rather than an SLA; the status page logged a European incident on 15 September 2026 and a Harmony rendering issue on 7 September. Support is 24/7 by chat and callback.

The lock-in is total and Wix says so: the help article "Exporting or Embedding Your Wix Site Elsewhere" states that your site must run on Wix's servers and that design and code cannot be exported. What leaves is CSV: products, contacts and CMS collections. Trustpilot is 3.5 on 28,998 invited reviews, 71 percent five-star and 22 percent one-star, with the one-star themes about renewal charges above the original price, blocked support emails and domain restrictions.
