Trend Micro Worry-Free

Trend Micro Incorporated was founded in Los Angeles in 1988 by Steve Chang, Jenny Chang and Eva Chen, who has been chief executive since 2005, and is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with its global headquarters in Tokyo, operational headquarters in Texas and research headquarters in Taipei. It describes research and development in sixteen locations; we found a support line in mainland China and no engineering office in China, Russia or Belarus. Japan-owned, with no government action against it.

Pricing is the first mark against it. Trend Micro's UK small-business pages, read live on 9 September 2026, show no price: the calls to action are "Try free" and "Get pricing", a lead form. A US online store exists and US resellers quote Worry-Free Services at around $39.64 a user a year in the 2 to 25 band, with Advanced roughly double, but the EMEA store could not be reached in three attempts and the pound figures that appeared in search results could not be confirmed, so we do not use them. For a UK buyer Worry-Free is quote-based and the grid says "Not published". The ladder is Worry-Free Services (endpoint), Worry-Free Services Advanced (adds Trend Micro Email Security and Cloud App Security for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Dropbox and Box), Worry-Free XDR (detection and response across email and endpoints, with cloud sandboxing), Worry-Free with Co-Managed XDR (Trend Micro analysts monitoring 24/7, the MDR option) and Managed XDR. Trend Micro's own help centre says auto-renewal is on by default and renewal can be dearer than a promotional first purchase, though that article is written for consumers. A 30-day trial is offered.

The product covers Windows desktops and servers, Mac, iOS and Android from one cloud console with no server to install, with behaviour monitoring, virtual patching of known vulnerabilities, web reputation, device control, data-loss prevention and full-disk encryption management in the family datasheet. It does not support Linux and no longer supports current Chromebooks. Trend Micro Remote Manager integrates with Datto RMM, Kaseya VSA and ConnectWise Automate for MSPs. Rollback of encrypted files, a public API for Worry-Free, console regions, SSO and an MCP server were not confirmed.

The independent record is the weakest of any full-featured vendor here. Trend Micro last entered AV-Comparatives' Business Security Test in 2019 and was marked "not approved"; it is not among the sixteen vendors tested in H1 2026, and its consumer product was downgraded for false positives in the 2026 real-world round. The most recent AV-TEST business result we found is for Apex One (April 2024, 5.5/6/6), a different product. It did take part in MITRE's 2025 round. CVE-2023-41179 was a critical zero-day, exploited in the wild, that named Worry-Free Business Security alongside Apex One; further Apex One and Apex Central flaws followed in 2025 and 2026. Trustpilot is 1.5 on 135 reviews, 70 per cent one-star, explicitly consumer-dominated, with billing and auto-renewal the themes. Not yet tested by Saaskly: assessed on published pricing, the independent test labs, vendor documentation and third-party reviews.
