## Ranking

Ranked by Saaskly's editorial score (0–5). Ties share a rank. Method: https://saaskly.com/editorial-policy.md

1. **=1. [Postmark](https://saaskly.com/category/email/postmark.md)**: 4.4/5. Transactional-only email API with the strongest independently-tested deliverability of any platform reviewed. The tradeoff is highest cost per email.
2. **=1. [SMTP2GO](https://saaskly.com/category/email/smtp2go.md)**: 4.4/5. Multi-datacenter transactional email service with a generous free tier and, per hands-on use, the most granular whitelist/blacklist controls of the group.
3. **3. [Resend](https://saaskly.com/category/email/resend.md)**: 3.9/5. Developer-first email API from the React Email team: the most modern DX of the group, built for JS/TS-native stacks.
4. **4. [Amazon SES](https://saaskly.com/category/email/amazon-ses.md)**: 3.8/5. Pay-as-you-go transactional email infrastructure from AWS: the cheapest at volume, but the most technically demanding to set up.
5. **5. [SendGrid](https://saaskly.com/category/email/sendgrid.md)**: 3.6/5. One of the largest and most widely integrated transactional + marketing email platforms, backed by Twilio.
6. **6. [SparkPost](https://saaskly.com/category/email/sparkpost.md)**: 3.5/5. Enterprise-grade deliverability analytics platform (predictive scoring, inbox placement testing) now operating under the Bird brand post-acquisition.
7. **=7. [Brevo](https://saaskly.com/category/email/brevo.md)**: 3.4/5. The Paris platform whose transactional API and SMTP relay come bundled with every marketing plan, including a free one, sending from servers in France and Germany.
8. **=7. [Mailgun](https://saaskly.com/category/email/mailgun.md)**: 3.4/5. Developer-focused transactional email API with strong validation/inspection tooling, recently repriced upward on its pay-as-you-go tier.
9. **9. [Mailjet](https://saaskly.com/category/email/mailjet.md)**: 3.3/5. Combined marketing + transactional platform with unlimited contacts on every paid tier and real-time collaborative email editing.

*Source IP allow/deny listing: whether you can restrict which IP addresses may use your sending credentials (SMTP/API), checked against each vendor’s official documentation, 2026-09-01. SendGrid, Mailgun, SMTP2GO and SparkPost offer a native allowlist (no denylist); Amazon SES has no native switch but achieves both allow and deny shapes through IAM policy conditions. Postmark, Resend and Mailjet document no such control.
