# Antivirus & Endpoint Security: ranked reviews and comparisons

> Business antivirus and endpoint security compared on the price per device you will actually pay for the business tier, on both bases, what the independent test labs say, whether EDR and servers are included, whether you can buy and deploy it yourself without a reseller, and who owns and engineers it, with Russian or Chinese links recorded and marked down.

## Ranking

Ranked by Saaskly's editorial score (0–5). Ties share a rank. Method: https://saaskly.com/editorial-policy.md

1. **1. [Bitdefender GravityZone](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/bitdefender-gravityzone.md)**: 4.5/5. The endpoint protection Saaskly's own company runs on, and the winner here: Business Security is £24.60 a device a year at list (£17.22 on the current 30 per cent first-term offer) with Windows, Mac, Linux and servers in one price, bought online with a card up to 100 devices and managed from a licensing page inside the console. Romanian-owned, all engineering in Romania, 99.8 per cent in the latest AV-Comparatives business test. What to know: EDR is a step up to Business Security Premium at £54.40, MDR is quote-only, patching, disk encryption and email security are add-ons, and there is no monthly billing for a direct buyer.
2. **2. [ESET Protect](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/eset-protect.md)**: 4.1/5. The light Slovak agent with the cleanest lab sheet in this test: 100 per cent real-world protection and 100 per cent malware detection at AV-Comparatives, servers included in the price, card checkout to 100 devices and a self-service licensing hub. Protect Entry is £33.72 a device a year with no promotion. What to know: Entry has no ransomware rollback, EDR is an add-on from Advanced with no published price and comes included only on the quote-only Elite tier, and Advanced's 30 per cent offer makes it cheaper than Entry in year one.
3. **3. [Microsoft Defender for Business](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/microsoft-defender-for-business.md)**: 4.0/5. The default for a firm already on Microsoft 365, and the cheapest way here to get EDR at the entry price: £2.30 a user a month on an annual plan (£27.60 a year) covering up to five devices per user, or bundled into Microsoft 365 Business Premium at £16.90. You choose a UK data region, deploy through Intune, and buy it yourself. What to know: Windows and Linux servers need a separate add-on, there is no MDR at this tier, it stops at 300 users, and Microsoft skipped the 2025 MITRE round.
4. **4. [CrowdStrike Falcon Go](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/crowdstrike-falcon-go.md)**: 3.7/5. The enterprise leader's small-business tier and the only product here you can pay for month to month: $59.99 a device a year or $7.99 a month, card checkout, 15-day trial, 30-day money back, on the engine with the best lab record in this comparison. What to know: Falcon Go has no EDR and neither does Falcon Pro at $99.99; EDR starts at Falcon Enterprise at $184.99, the self-service route stops at 100 devices, UK buyers pay in US dollars, and 19 July 2024 is on the record.
5. **5. [Avast Business](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/avast-business.md)**: 3.6/5. The cheapest real business console here with Windows Server support: Essential Business Security is £26.90 a device a year on renewal (£21.52 in year one) for 25 devices, ex VAT, bought online with a 30-day trial that needs no card, and it scored 99.0 per cent in the H1 2026 AV-Comparatives business test with 6/6/6 at AV-TEST. What to know: there is no EDR or MDR anywhere in the range, patching only arrives on Ultimate, web control is missing from Essential, and the owner, Gen Digital, carries Avast's Jumpshot browsing-data sale and a $16.5m FTC order.
6. **6. [Sophos Intercept X](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/sophos-intercept-x.md)**: 3.5/5. The UK's own endpoint vendor and the most complete lab record on this page: AV-TEST 17.5 of 18, SE Labs AAA, AV-Comparatives Approved and strong MITRE rounds, with the MDR service everyone else measures against. Marked down for how you buy it: Sophos publishes no list price for Intercept X and offers no card checkout, only a quote form and AWS Marketplace, and it is owned by Thoma Bravo, a US private-equity firm. Trustpilot is 1.7 on 64 reviews.
7. **7. [WithSecure Elements](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/withsecure-elements.md)**: 3.4/5. The Finnish business half of the old F-Secure, with EDR inside the scored bundle, patching included and a perfect 6/6/6 Top Product at AV-TEST in every 2026 round. Elements EDR and EPP for Computers is about £47.77 a device a year at 25 devices, but that is a reseller's price: WithSecure publishes none of its own and sells through partners. What to know: servers are a separate and much dearer SKU, it does not enter the AV-Comparatives business test, it was taken private by CVC in March 2026, and it has no Trustpilot presence at all.
8. **8. [SentinelOne Singularity](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/sentinelone-singularity.md)**: 3.3/5. Autonomous EDR with rollback and one of only two official MCP servers in this comparison, priced at $179.99 an endpoint a year for Singularity Complete. What to know: SentinelOne's own pricing page says "all purchases will be made through an authorized third-party partner", there is no GBP price, the old Core and Control tiers have gone from the price list, it has not entered the AV-Comparatives business test since 2017 and withdrew from the 2025 MITRE round, and Trustpilot is 2.7 on seven reviews.
9. **9. [ThreatDown by Malwarebytes](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/threatdown.md)**: 3.2/5. Malwarebytes' business line, with the cheapest published MDR on this page: Core is £57.04 a device a year, Advanced with EDR £65.31, Elite with MDR £81.84, all bought online in pounds with ransomware rollback on every tier. What to know: the online store stops at 20 devices per line, servers are an add-on at every tier, Core has no EDR at all, the last independent business test was 2022, and Malwarebytes' own mailbox was breached by the SolarWinds-era attackers in 2021.
10. **10. [Trend Micro Worry-Free](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/trend-micro-worry-free.md)**: 3.0/5. The long-running small-business suite from the Tokyo-listed vendor, with Windows servers, Macs and mobiles in one licence and Microsoft 365 email security bundled from the Advanced tier. What to know: Trend Micro publishes no UK price at all (its UK pages offer a lead form and a trial, confirmed live), Worry-Free does not run on Linux, its last AV-Comparatives business test was 2019 and it was not approved, the recent AV-TEST score belongs to Apex One, and CVE-2023-41179 was an exploited zero-day named against Worry-Free.
11. **11. [Heimdal](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/heimdal.md)**: 2.8/5. A Danish modular platform that bundles antivirus, ransomware encryption protection, patching, DNS filtering, privilege management and a 24/7 SOC for small firms and MSPs, with a Trustpilot 3.8 on 970 reviews. What to know: there is no commercial price without a sales call (the calculator is a lead form; the only fixed UK figure is a G-Cloud public-sector price of £48 a device a year), no result at any of the four independent labs for the business product, and the G-Cloud listing offers email and ticket support only, weekdays.
12. **12. [Acronis Cyber Protect](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/acronis-cyber-protect.md)**: 2.6/5. A backup product with endpoint protection bolted on, and marked down hard: Acronis was founded in 2003 by Serguei Beloussov, Ilya Zubarev and Max Tsyplyaev, ran Russian engineering until it "suspended all operations in Russia" in March 2022, and still has Russian-named executives in its product and development chairs, although EQT has held the majority since 2024 from Switzerland and Singapore. The software itself is competent: Standard is £59 a workstation a year (£53.10 on offer), Advanced with EDR £95, 6/6/6 at AV-TEST, 24/7 phone support included, but a server costs £649 a year and a 12GB trove of Acronis data leaked in 2023.
13. **13. [Kaspersky Next EDR Foundations](https://saaskly.com/category/antivirus/kaspersky.md)**: 2.0/5. Last, and the reason is stated first: Kaspersky was founded in Moscow in 1997 and is run from there, Companies House records Eugene Kaspersky, Russian and resident in Russia, as holding 75 per cent or more of the UK company, the United States banned its sale from 20 July 2024 and its updates from 29 September 2024, the NCSC has advised against it for sensitive systems since 2017 and Germany's BSI has warned against it since March 2022. The product is cheap and the labs rate it highly: £31 a user a year with basic EDR and servers in the same licence pool, AAA at SE Labs, 6/6/6 at AV-TEST. Saaskly marks down security software with Russian links, and this is the clearest case.

*Scored tier: the business tier the score is set on (the cheapest plan with a cloud console covering Windows, macOS and Windows Server), per device per year on a one-year term at about 25 devices, then per device per month where monthly billing exists, in the currency the vendor shows a UK visitor on the research date; see each profile for the VAT basis, the seat band and what the tier above adds.

**Owned in: where the company that owns the vendor answers to. A US-owned vendor is subject to US law (including the CLOUD Act) wherever the console data sits. "Russian or Chinese link" records ownership, management or engineering links found on the research date, with the evidence on the profile; Saaskly marks these down in the score by editorial rule and says so.

- [Best Antivirus and Endpoint Security for UK Business in 2026: Bitdefender Wins, ESET Has the Cleanest Lab Sheet, and Two Vendors Are Marked Down for Their Russian Links](https://saaskly.com/comparisons/best-business-antivirus-endpoint-security-2026.md): Comparison. We compared thirteen business endpoint products on the price per device per year of the tier a UK firm would actually buy, on what that price includes (servers, EDR, MDR), on the independent labs' results, on whether you can buy and deploy it without a reseller, and on who owns and engineers it. Bitdefender GravityZone wins on one price for every platform, self-service buying and Romanian ownership, and it is the product Saaskly's own company runs. ESET Protect has the cleanest lab sheet; Microsoft Defender for Business is the Microsoft 365 default with EDR included; CrowdStrike is the only one you can pay monthly. Sophos has the best labs and no way to buy it online. Kaspersky and Acronis are marked down for their Russian links, with the evidence on every profile.
